Affiliate marketing is becoming very popular, now that it’s an option open to everybody with an internet connection. Only the educated will survive however. If you think that you are just going to roll on up, create a website, add a few affiliate links and expect the money to come flooding in, think again. But if you want to know the No.1 affiliate marketing tip for beginners, read on.
Why should people come to your website? How are people going to find your website? If they do find your site, why are they going to hang around, what will be the incentive to stay and purchase a product? What would make people buy from your website rather than somebody else’s?
These are all questions you need to ask yourself before you start. So here it is, my No.1 affiliate marketing tip for beginners.
No.1 Affiliate Marketing Tip For Beginners – Educate Yourself
When I first started out in this business, I had no idea that there we’re great programs out there with the intention of teaching you all the in’s and out’s of affiliate marketing. I did come to understand within a couple of months though, that there are plenty of scams out there willing to take your money, with no intention of helping or teaching.
The first website I ever created with the intention of earning a few dollars from affiliate marketing, was all done by trial and error. It was no wonder I hardly made any money, I had no understanding of how to get visitors to my website. Probably the biggest part of your education is how to drive traffic to your website via different avenues.
There are multiple ways to drive traffic to your website, The easiest, cheapest and most efficient way, is to add highly searched keywords to your blogging content. If you don’t understand how keywords work or what they are, read my article titled What Is The Best Keyword Search Tool.
Forever and a day, this technique is going to get you ranked well in Google. Google loves great content, and if you can add phrases that are being searched hundreds of times per month, into your content , BANG, your ranking will rise.
Google are constantly changing their algorithms to reward the website owners, that provide the most relevant, up to date, valuable content. This is why the attraction of keywords is so prevalent, it will always get you ranked in Google’s eyes over other techniques like, linking to other websites or purchasing email addresses for your email marketing campaigns (which never works by the way).
Unfortunately, there is no genuine way of finding great keywords for free. Sure, you may try Google Keyword Planner like most people, but this doesn’t give you any relevant information for particular keywords like competition, searched traffic or any sort of indication as to how well that search term will perform.
In my opinion, I use the best keyword tool around, known as Jaaxy.
But keywords are not the only way you will be successful in affiliate marketing. There are many aspects that you need to learn, and I’m going to provide you with my top 3 programs that will guarantee you are great education in this field.

In no particular order, these are my favourite 3 programs for teaching the art of affiliate marketing. To find out what I consider the best and why, go to my No.1 recommendation.
All of these programs will teach you how to go about the process of affiliate marketing, but again, don’t think this is going to happen overnight. You are going to have to work at this. But hey, isn’t this what you want? The life of being able to work the hours you want, and ditching your employer? Well, work hard, especially in the initial stages, and the rewards will come.
You may have already tried affiliate marketing like I did to begin with. Did you get to a point where you decided that it was all too hard? No traffic was established in 3 months so you decided to chuck it all in?
Let me tell you something. It takes 6-9 months for Google to recognise that you are no fly by night joker. Do you think that Google wants to reward everyone that has a go at this, and credit them with rankings on page 1 within such a short time? No way. You need to be a consistent performer, a reliable source of information and most of all, play by the rules.
By this I mean, no keyword stuffing, no buying traffic, no cramming affiliate links into every page. You need to treat this as a business, which it is if you are making money!
So ask yourself this question. Am I prepared to educate myself, work hard and provide genuine valuable information for people in a niche that truly interests me. If the answer is yes, you will be a success if you follow through with all that lies ahead.
Trust me, this can be achieved by anybody that is willing to follow the training and implement what is being taught. If you have tried this before, try again. Most people fail first time, many on their second or third attempts. But quitters do not prevail.
I love the saying, ‘If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll have what you’ve always had‘. I wish I had heard this earlier than I did because for so long I lived by the governments rules. You know, where they want you to live like everybody else, get a 9-5 job, family, bills, tax etc.
I traveled in my early years and the memories never left me. I always wanted to earn an income whilst I was sleeping so that I could travel again and again. Affiliate marketing provides that opportunity.
So if you’ve ever had the thought of giving affiliate marketing a shot, go in with your eye’s open. Don’t expect miracles, and get educated to give yourself the greatest chance of success.
I won’t even say good luck to you, as luck is not involved. It all comes down to education, motivation and persistence. Go get em!
