Comparing Wealthy Affiliate vs Affilorama
Introduction to Affilorama
Probably the two big educational programs dedicated to teaching affiliate marketing, so we’ll discuss Wealthy Affiliate vs Affilorama and what they have to offer.
Mark Ling is the face behind Affilorama, a website that has been created to benefit all sorts of people that want to make their mark in Affiliate marketing. There are many of this type of program in the online world and many of them are scams, a small amount though are very good and well resourced.
So what is Affilorama and is it Worthwhile? This affiliate platform was started by Mark in 2005 and it has grown quite rapidly into a very good community based learning website. This is one of the better products out there and keeps fairly well up to date with modern techniques, however, there are a few flaws that bring my ranking down a little, I’ll get to those further into my review.
There are a few different levels of membership at Affilorama. In my opinion, I don’t think this is a great idea. I’d prefer to pay a one off cost and have everything included. Obviously they see this as another way to get a few more dollars out of their members.
Take a look here for an insight into what you can expect at Affilorama, and whether it would be worth your time and money to join up.
Why Consider Affilorama?
Affilorama is a worthwhile consideration, it’s not a scam, you are taught well and you could very well come away with a successful business or website. Like a few other helpful platforms, including my No.1 recommendation, Affilorama, Mark Ling and his community of members are there to help.
Any program that has it’s clients or customers as their main consideration is worth thinking about. Their site looks and feels very professional and you will be welcomed to the community.
Affilorama is a very real consideration, it’s a legitimate platform to help you begin your online success. Read on below to find out what you can expect on the inside.
What Does Affilorama membership Include?
The initial investment of 0$ gets you free and unlimited access to 85 video tutorials with lesson notes in PDF. This is actually pretty good value for paying nothing upfront, although you will part with your email address! You will be prompted to join their premium membership (understandably) which will cost you $1. This gets you 30 days in which to check out the Premium membership, after this time it will cost you $67 per month.
Included in the Premium membership is a five menu series as shown below.
The premium Tools section has some new tools and some old. It seems that the new tools are being worked on continuously at the detriment of the old tools. Unfortunately, some of the old one’s seem outdated and I wonder whether they should still be used. Some of the tools are teaching back links which are an old school technique, they are not really used now days and and can mess with your SEO.
They also have a keyword checking tool, SEO tools and content writing tools which are good.
There is an article spinning tool also which I believe many people would use, as it’s an easy way to grab somebody else’s article and spin it to say the same thing, but with some different words. This is a big no, no. Here’s a great post about why not to ‘article spin’.
As you can also see in the image above, they can host your website for you, there is plenty of Affiliate training and a Blogging Bootcamp. Approximately 25% of the Blog Bootcamp is teaching back links which I mentioned before, is irrelevant these days.
There is still plenty of great tools here including Affilo Tools. The image below shows Affilo Tools with my test website integrated into it. Here you can link Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter etc, manage you keywords, check your ClickBank credit and lots more. This looks like it could be a very handy tool, however, you want to be sure that you’re comfortable with giving that information to a third party tool.
Who is Affilorama For?
Anybody interested in dipping their toe in the affiliate marketing industry, most notably newbies. Affilorama is a great place to get started, everybody wanting to learn the craft needs to learn somewhere and the training provided here is very good. Affilorama is not as good as my No.1 Recommendation, but if your looking for a review to find out if they are a scam, well, no they are not. If you had you mind set on joining Affilorama, click here.
How is the Support?
The support at Affilorama is based on a community Forum. The only problem with this is that you could be waiting 12-24 hours for a reply. All discussions within the forum can be shared amongst members, along with comments, suggestions and questions. They have over 276,000 registered users so finding somebody with an answer to your problem should be quite easy. However, I’m not sure all those registered members would still be active.
Now for the Upsells!
Why do they do it? You get a pretty good Affiliate Marketing platform with great training and community, then they impose upsells to prize more money out of you. In this case the upsells are various types of membership as follows:
General Membership – $1 for first month, $67 there after. Includes the following:
- Premium Software Tools
- Blog Bootcamp
- Free web hosting for up to 15 domains
- Monthly Training magazine
- 30 Quailty PLR Articles Every Month
In my opinion, this is too expensive anyway. There are much cheaper options out there that include everything.
AffiloBlueprint – $197 or $597 with yearly membership included. Includes the following:
- Step by step Blueprint guide to online marketing
- Their own website theme (Affilotheme)
- 2 Webinars
- Access to private forum
Unjustified cost in my opinion, way too much
AffiloJetpack – $497. Includes the following:
- Niche marketing package. (You choose 5 out of 10 pre-made)
- 15 Newsletter Email Series, one per niche
- 3 E-books per niche, intended as free givaways
- Access to their Affilotheme
- Images for each niche
- PLR articles (20)
Mark Ling does have other products apart from Affilorama. These niche sites that you are buying from him will be promoting his affiliate products so that he makes more sales. It’s a very clever idea of his, as long as you as a member, also make money. Unfortunately I’m not sold on this idea. All these niche sites have to be re-written and customised with training, otherwise there would be many websites out there that are all the same. This would be seen a duplicate content by Google and will not get ranked.
Affilotheme – $97. Includes the following:
- Affilotheme for WordPress
- Private members only forum
- Video guides on how to use the theme
- Graphic creation tool
- Hosting for 1 year.
This is actually a very good theme but you can buy other great themes out there for half the cost.
As you can clearly see, the upsells become too expensive when all you want is training on how to become an affiliate marketer.
This is a very good product and certainly worth considering. I do have a few hang ups about some of the tools still being used but most of the training is great quality. The cost of the upsells is very off putting, but you do not need to join these.
The cost of monthly membership is a little on the steep side as there are alternatives out there such as Wealthy Affiliate for a fair bit less. If you still want to check out Affilorama, join here for $1.
